  1. Fees

Joining and listing on UniBooks.co.uk is free. UniBooks.co.uk only charges fees when a book sells. Currently books sold have a percentage fee of 10% of the sale price. UniBooks.co.uk reserves the right to change this percentage at any time and you will be notified by email or message through the site. This percentage excludes postage price. For example, if a book is £20 with £3 postage, the fees would be 10% of £20 which is £2. We aim to keep the fees low to provide the best, affordable service to students. A minimum fee of 10% is required to cover our costs, (such as PayPal which take a percentage of each sale). PayPal may also charge sellers when their books sell. Our fees are withdrawn automatically at the point of sale. In the example with the book at £20 and postage at £3, the seller would receive £21 for the sale of the book plus postage (£18 + £3). The £2 is automatically deducted and never reaches the seller’s account.

However, UniBooks.co.uk may choose to temporarily change the fees for UniBooks.co.uk’s services for promotional events (for example, free listing days); such changes are effective when UniBooks.co.uk posts the temporary promotional event on the Site. UniBooks.co.uk may, at UniBooks.co.uk’s sole discretion, change some or all of UniBooks.co.uk’s services at any time. If there is a change, members will be notified by email. In the event UniBooks.co.uk introduces a new service, the fees for that service are effective at the launch of the service. Unless otherwise stated, all fees are quoted in £ (GBP).

Binding Sale: Sellers are responsible for accurately listing their books, and buyers are responsible for reading the description and reviewing listing information before making a purchase. All sales are binding. The seller is obligated to post the book in a prompt manner following receipt of payment. It is advised the seller puts in the book description when they intend to dispatch the book. It is advised this is no more than 2 days. It is advised sellers keep proof of postage on file as well. The buyer is obligated to deliver appropriate payment for books purchased.

Fee Avoidance: Sellers may charge reasonable shipping and handling fees to cover the costs of packaging and mailing the books. Such prices must clearly be shown before final payment is taken.
